Chapter 2-26

In Cyclonis's throne room Dark Ace returns to Cyclonis's side as Spine stands in the middle of the room as if waiting for judgment for his new life on Cyclonia "Master Cyclonis, it is a shame that it has taken me this long to return. I'm sorry about your Grandmothers passing she was a glorious leader, but now seeing you here taking the title as Master I am greatly honored and dare I say proud." Spine says this as if he was some kind of proud father to her. He lives his finger to his face to wipe away a single tear that was not actually there. Not being impressed with his words she turns to face Ace and asks him.
   
    "I see his loyalty is still there, but what about the crystal, does it work?"
   
    "Yes, it does. He has proof that it does." He says obviously making it look like he did not want to admit it.
   
    "It does work, but I would not say that it's at it's full potential. But I believe with the equipment here would be much more suitable to study further than my old lab. I still haven't studied its side effects and how suitable it is to function through different people so far I've only been able to test one test subject, But the results have been quite positive." Spine says giving his case on the matter.
   
    "A test subject? That must be the proof." Cyclonis says smiling at Ace.
   
    "Yes, the subject has a personality that is perfect for this kind of experiment." Dark Ace replies.
   
    "You make it sound like it's someone we know, a Sky Knight?"
   
    "A Storm Hawk. Aerrow."
   
    "Aerrow? Wow, impressive. Now I see that you have proven more than enough to return and as for the plan this was originally set by my Grandmother. I've looked through the files and I made some adjustments, but I see that we now have a former Sky Knight under our control this plan might need a few more adjustments. But I see this coming together perfectly." Cyclonis continues her monologue as if she's muddling over the plans in her head. "It might be awhile before we enter the next stage of this plan. But for now I feel like we should focus on the subject that we have. Considering his state of mind he must have hundreds of questions has anyone answered these questions to him so far."
   
    "Not I Master, but someone else in this room has." Spine says as he grows the biggest grin that he can muster on his face while looking at Ace. Cyclonis looks at the Dark Ace wondering if Spine was implying something that's going to make her want to slap him in the face.
   
    "I told him he was a Talon. And I gave him his name. A new name." Ace says not looking directly at her as if he was embarrassed.
   
    "Of course you did." Cyclons says pressing the bridge of her nose with her thumb and finger. For some reason everytime anything that involves that kid she tends to lose any kind of control she has over Ace. "So what is the name you just had to give him?"
   
    "Sparrow." Knowing that he did wrong he muttered the answer not willing to say it out loud.
   
    "Sparrow. Really Ace, your imagination just astounds me sometimes. Let me guess you already have a rewritten history of his life already written in that head of yours."
   
    "Well, I...." Ace wasn't really sure if she actually wanted to hear an actual answer from him. For Cyclonis sadly she was not surprised but all it did was make her more frustrated.
   
    "Fine. I get it. If you want him so badly to be taken up under your wing you can have him." Then she lifts her hand and shows three fingers. Three months. You have three months to make him the Talon we need him to be for the next phase."
   
    "I can't possibly make him Talon in that amount of time. At least not to his full potential. Master, I.." He says now just realizing he put himself in this situation. He realizes he's in no position to refute this. "As you wish." Then Cyclonis speaks to Spine.
   
    "I want constant updates on his progress. I read in the files not many subjects exposed to it survive very long after it was used. Three months should be more than enough to know if it has improved."
   
    "As you wish my master." Spine leaves the throne room being escorted by other Talons. Ace decided to follow them as well. "Ah, Dark Ace, I would like to know why exactly you wanted to name him Sparrow."
   
    "You remember one of our squadron members had a nasty habit of giving us nicknames, right?"
   
    "Oh yeah, I remember him he was the one who gave you the name Lucky. Yes, you were Lucky Ace then there was Lightning the Dashing and so on and so on."
   
    "Well, he had a nickname too. So I just went with that."  
   
    "Now I'm more curious to hear what kind of history are you going to write for him. You seem to already have figured that out. I will be very impressed to see you molding it all together on the spot."
   
    "It's simple, we found him very young abandoned in the wasteland. We took him in and made him one of our own."
   
    "Wait a minute, that's."
   
    "I know that's Irol story. I'm making it his."
